Image this, one repetition to build muscles! You can achieve muscle growth in short three minute sessions by executing one repetition of any strength exercise. Instead of doing traditional repetitions do one rep and hold it for three minutes or until your muscles burn! For example, a typical bicep curl starts with dumbbells held at resting position then raising lower arms toward shoulders, a series of lifts and drops. With the quick strength hack, one rep is held by raising dumbbells midway up in front with arms partially curled for three minutes or until fatigue hits. Also, straightening and extending arms outwards with dumbbells provide a powerful workout for triceps.
This extending and holding technique isn't limited to curls, it can be applied to any strength exercise for building muscle tone. A regular push-up turns into lifting yourself up from the ground then holding the position for a three minute period or as long as you can. Bench press now becomes holding up and extending your arms with the barbell above your head. The same for leg press, stretch your legs out and hold! For sit-ups, lift and keep the siting position half way up. You will feel your abs stinging! If you don’t feel your muscles burning then increase weights to intensify the three minute workout.
